About This Journal

 

The Journal of The Korean Society for Microbiology and The Journal of the Korean Society for Virology was discontinued, with their last volumes being 36 and 30 respectively; and the new integrated journal was then born as Volume 31 of Journal of Bacteriology and Virology. Therefore, Journal of Bacteriology and Virology was launched in 2001 and ISSN was not changed. The aim of JBV is to advance scientific knowledge and to contribute to the control of infectious disease through the sharing of up-to-date information on the microbiology among the members and other international societies. The Journal of Bacteriology and Virology publishes the manuscripts of review articles, research articles, communications, and Letters to the Editor describing bacteria, viruses, fungi, and other microorganisms and their interactions with host and other related fields. The Journal of Bacteriology and Virology is published quarterly, one volume per year and subscriptions are accepted on a calendar year basis (On March 31, June 30, September 30, and December 31 each year).

 

The official title of the journal is ‘Journal of Bacteriology and Virology’ and its abbreviation is ‘J Bacteriol Virol.’ All submitted manuscripts are peer-reviewed by three reviewers. The text may be written in Korean or English. The abstract, acknowledgements, references, figure legends, and tables should be written in English. All articles in this journal are indexed in Korea Med, Korea Med Synapse, DOI/Crossref, and Scopus. Manuscripts should be submitted using on-line homepage (http://www.jbv.or.kr/sobis/jbv.jsp) or sent to the editorial office by email. Open access, everyone everywhere can read this journal without cost.
